Local County Councillors have secured a grant of £2,800 for Citizens Advice Mid Mercia to buy equipment so Adviceline volunteers can assist local people during the Covid-19 crisis.

Derbyshire County Council has been successfully awarded a grant of £524,000 to help expand the support for the victims of domestic abuse across the County.

The money is particularly welcome at a time when domestic abuse is liable to increase during the coronavirus pandemic.

Long Eaton has been selected as one of two Derbyshire towns to be included in the Government’s £3.6 billion town centre fund with the potential of £25 million worth of investment for the area.

Derbyshire County Council is investing £15 million for a new care facility on the old Bennerley School site.
