DCC Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal was approached by Sawley Community Association to assist with funding of a new “Notice board” after the previous board got damaged.
Mark Williams on behalf of Sawley Community Association Said;
“The Committee would like to thank Councillor Athwal and Derbyshire County Council for the generous donation of £1000 for the purchase of a new external notice board.
Unfortunately, the old one was damaged, so we had no dedicated space to promote the activities taking place at the Hall.
The grant has enabled us to purchase a fence mounted board which should be more robust and will better draw the attention of passers-by”
Derbyshire County Councillor Kewal Singh Athwal Said;
“I am delighted to have been able to support the Sawley Community Association with this £1000 Grant from the Derbyshire County Council MCLS to replace the damaged notice board.
The Sawley Memorial Hall and Community Centre is very well used by many local organisations and residents alike for community functions and this notice board will assist in keeping residents informed of upcoming events”
