Matlock - Valerie Taylor

Having lived and worked in Derbyshire her whole life, Valerie counts her blessings every day that she lives in this wonderful area. It is a fantastic place to live, but that does not mean it cannot be better. There are always things we can do to make life better for residents and she is passionate to make sure that everything is done to make our area the best it can be.

Valerie is a keen supporter of many local businesses and support for the post- pandemic economy is vitally important.

One of the most important issues moving forward is climate change and Valerie is delighted that the local Conservatives have a common- sense plan to tackle climate change. By working on flood alleviation schemes and investing in electric vehicle charging points in our area, we are taking the steps needed to address this problem. We have to invest in the Green economy, promoting safer cycling and walking for physical and mental wellbeing.

Valerie was chair of a Parish Council and a borough councillor for 4 years and am well used to council procedure.

She is a wife, mother and grandmother.

Valerie enjoys meeting and helping people, and walking in our beautiful countryside. Litter is one of her main bugbears as conservation and nature issues are very high on my priorities.

Valerie is a hard worker and will give her all to the people of Matlock Division
