Married to Sue with a grown up family, Alan lives in the Long Eaton Division. Now retired, he worked for a pharmaceutical distribution company for several years.

A keen sportsman, he has coached young footballers in Derbyshire for many years and in his spare time is an active supporter of Unicef and Action Aid. He believes in residents receiving value for money from their locally provided services and aims to encourage more businesses into the town, providing new employment and training opportunities.
