Local Conservatives are concerned by the recent announcement that the Alfreton branch of Natwest is set to close in June.
We know how important bank branches remain for many, for things like access to cash, help with the more complex banking and account questions and being able to talk to a friendly face! Visiting the bank is also important to wider footfall in our town centres.
We’ve already got successful experience of getting a Banking Hub in Clay Cross after the last bank closed there, so given the recent closure of other bank branches in Alfreton and Ripley, local Conservatives Cllrs Charlotte Cupit, Barry Lewis and Paul Moss are working together to try and encourage either Natwest to think again or to see if a banking hub or similar would be possible for Alfreton.
