Ripley East and Codnor - Ron Ashton

As your County Councillor for the last 4 years, and a local resident in Ripley for over 40 years, Ron has worked hard to support residents and get things done across this area.

He has supported groups such as the local scouts for over 35 years and continues to be the Chairman of Ripley Scouts, and serve as a member of the Ripley Hospital League of Friends. As a County Councillor, Ron has been passionate about supporting community groups all around this Division, including providing community grants to local scouts, brownies and community associations in Codnor, Waingroves and Ripley - he wants to continue to do this if re-elected.

As a local electric business owner, Ron also knows the importance of supporting jobs and businesses, so he will continue to work on measures to encourage shoppers to our town, such as reinstating the bollards to pedestrianise Ripley's Oxford Street.

From continuing to fund and fill grit bins in Ripley where they're needed to working with the police to find solutions to speeding on Alfreton Road in Codnor and through Waingroves, he wants to use his experience to continue to be a local councillor who solves local issues and get things done for residents.
